Feasibility study on different governance structures for the pentalateral Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube

On behalf of WWF Austria, E.C.O. analyzes options for an international coordination body of the 5-country biosphere reserve Mura-Drava-Danube (TBR MDD). E.C.O. identifies and evaluates different international management approaches, develops criteria for efficiency assessment and elaborates three tailor-made organizational models. On this basis, E.C.O. formulates well-founded recommendations for the establishment of a permanently functional, transnational coordination body, including financing, legal structure and task profile. E.C.O. thus makes a significant contribution to the strategic further development of the TBR MDD and to the implementation of the UNESCO guidelines for biosphere reserves.
