As part of a research project within the framework of the “INVENTURA” biodiversity fund, E.C.O. is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive terrestrial mapping of invasive plant species in Natura 2000 areas along Austrian rivers. E.C.O. develops a stratified sampling concept, creates detailed terrain maps and digital survey forms, carries out standardized surveys at 60 locations and prepares the data on a GIS basis. In addition, remote sensing data is validated by means of detailed mapping. Specialist workshops and a final report round off the project. E.C.O. contributes its many years of expertise in vegetation ecology, GIS and neophyte management in a practical manner.
