Processing of management plans in selected Natura 2000 areas in Upper Austria in the performance period 2024-2026
E.C.O. draws up management plans for several Natura 2000 areas on behalf of the province of Upper Austria, including “Waldaist and Naarn”, “Lower Steyr and Enns Valley” and “Hotlands and alluvial forests on the Traun”. The aim is to safeguard the conservation status of habitats and species and to formulate specific measures for the protection and development of the areas. E.C.O. analyzes existing mapping data, conducts expert surveys and assesses relevant FFH habitats and species in a technically sound manner. The institute contributes its extensive experience in protected area planning, habitat assessment and participatory process design, thus providing the basis for effective long-term implementation of the Natura 2000 objectives in Upper Austria.
