Management plan for the Walterskirchen Estate European nature reserve
The Walterskirchen Estate European nature reserve on Lake Wörthersee comprises near-natural shoreline areas, moors, ponds and forests. It is home to valuable FFH habitats such as dystrophic lakes, transition bogs and pine swamp forests as well as endangered species, including bats and amphibians. The management plan drawn up by E.C.O. aims to maintain the favorable conservation status of the protected assets by calming sensitive areas, guiding visitors, extensive use and monitoring. A key issue is the impact of cormorants. The use in the area of the former farmstead remains in place and, according to the expert opinion, does not affect the protected assets.
