As part of the selective biotope mapping 2024/25, E.C.O. is investigating around 475 ha of meadows and streamside vegetation in the city of Linz. The aim is to update nature conservation basics and derive maintenance and management measures. A total of 134 biotopes with 321 sub-areas covering 122.7 ha were surveyed, including 23 “potential biotopes”. Low-lying meadows dominate (77 %), followed by rough pastures and semi-arid grasslands. 322 vascular plant species were identified. Three FFH habitat types were identified (6510, 6210, 3270) covering a total of 73.5 ha. The survey was carried out according to the standards of the province of Upper Austria.
