Year 2021

After the successful nomination of the first 5-country biosphere reserve between Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Hungary, the ongoing Interreg project LifelineMDD aims to improve biodiversity in the ecological corridor of the rivers Mura, Drava and Danube with measures like river restorations and natural river dynamics. In addition, the aim is to establish a good communication base between the stakeholders of the different countries and to establish a long-term active network. In this project, E.C.O is working together with a total of 12 partners and 17 associated partners and is developing – within the framework of work package 4 – a stakeholder platform that is intended to simplify communication between the countries and subsequently make a significant contribution to the successful management of the five-country-biosphere reserve.
