In 2017, E.C.O. together with the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences established the certificate course ‘Nature Conservation Engineer’. The course aims to prepare and train specialists who will be able to successfully close the gap that currently exists between official requirements in nature conservation and the lack of understanding for ecological concerns. The course is thus located at the interface of ecology, law and building practice.

The one-year course focuses on practical nature conservation issues that arise on construction sites, infrastructures and at municipal level. Participants work in construction companies, in the energy, raw materials and transport industries, in planning offices, in nature conservation organisations and in public administration. The programme serves graduates as an additional qualification to an existing profession. After successful completion, a certificate is awarded. We supervise the practical final project assignments with our nature conservation expertise.
