The Tyrolean Lech Nature Park was established in 2004. Its characteristic element is the dynamic power of the river Lech, one of the last “wild” rivers of the northern Alps. The natural riverbed has allowed the formation of large areas of crushed rocks and gravel, hosting a very specific and valuable fauna and flora. Building up on this unique character of the ecosystem, the nature park administration now aims at defining a vision and guiding principles for the further development of the area. E.C.O. supports and moderates this participatory process. The sharpening of the nature park profile shall ease the “inward” and “outward” communication, and help to plan activities in a target-oriented and coordinated way.
