The Red List of endangered ferns and flowering plants of Carinthia

Congratulation!

The Red List of endangered ferns and flowering plants of Carinthia was reissued in 2023.

We are especially proud of our colleague and co-author DI Tobias Köstl MSc. Congratulations!

Red Lists reflect the anthropogenic impact on our biodiversity and are an essential tool for a wide range of conservation issues. Endangerment lists of species occurring in the respective reference area are indispensable for nature conservation assessments of both cultural and natural landscapes.

The new edition of the Red List of endangered ferns and flowering plants of Carinthia was carried out in close cooperation with the compilation of the Red List of Austria, which resulted in numerous synergy effects with regard to method and data procurement. The regional classification of species endangerment in the specific Carinthian natural areas was carried out with the broadest possible participation of the most experienced experts of the Carinthian flora, in order to guarantee a high topicality of the quality of the data.
