Valuable forests: Functions and services for a Nature Park

The Steirische Eisenwurzen Nature and Geo Park is located in a densely forested region where forestry plays a central role for the local economy. The forest and its functions are also becoming increasingly important at the European level. Nature parks can do valuable things in their region and create awareness for the value of forests.

What specifically can a nature park do for forests and forestry? Where does it leave the needs of managers, users and processors? E.C.O. organises several discussion rounds, stakeholder meetings and information events to discuss these questions. The aim is to clarify the role of the nature park and the question of climate-friendly forest management.

We will begin and design the process in cooperation with forest owners and stakeholders to ensure that the results are firmly anchored in the region.
