The province of Upper Austria is having a revision of the now 20-year-old biotope mapping carried out for the Natura2000 site "Upper Danube and Aschach Valley". E.C.O. was entrusted with the mapping of the Aschach Valley sub-area. In the very densely forested area, forest habitat types such as ravine forests and acidic beech forests predominate; the management intensity ranges from intensive forestry use to no use in natural forest reserves. In addition to the biotope types, the FFH habitat types and their conservation status are also mapped in the field.
