The FFG-funded project "AI4Trees" aims to develop tree growth models in order to gain a better understanding of the health status and carbon storage of individual trees. Precise climate data from the ELTER measuring points and high-frequency circumference measurements of the trees are intended to provide information about how trees react to climate influences. This is intended to enable a better forecast of how tree growth will react under changing climate conditions. In addition to the ELTER measuring points, terrestrial laser scans from the Kalkalpen National Park and the Rohrach Natural Forest Reserve in Vorarlberg are also taken into account.
