Conservation histories
In August Christina Pichler-Koban and Michael Jungmeier presented their book “Naturschutz, Werte, Wandel” (Conservation, Values, Changes) to their colleagues, families and companions. Some guests even travelled from Zurich or Berchtesgaden to Klagenfurt to take part in the event. The presentation took place in Kunstraum Lakeside. Side events were a ride with a vintage tram to European nature reserve Lendspitz-Maiernigg and a performance of the Klagenfurter musicians “Die Unvollendeten”.
“Naturschutz, Werte, Wandel” narrates the histories of seven protected areas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and describes the interrelations between the idea of conservation and the conflicts and ideologies of the 20th century. The book was realised with financial support from Swiss Bristol Foundation and published in Haupt Verlag. Find more information here.
