Biotope mapping with state-of-the-art technologies

In spring 2013 the Federal State Government of Salzburg decided to revise the biotope mapping, which was realized statewide from 1991 until 2008. The revision starts in the northern part of the Flachgau (District Salzburg Umgebung) and should be completed in the years 2013/2014. As E.C.O. was successfully involved into the biotop mapping of parts of the Pinzgau (District Zell am See) in the year 2008, it is a great pleasure for E.C.O. to contracted again to map the areas of two municipalities.

Besides well-tried standard methods, E.C.O. introduces new state-of-the art technologies to fulfill the task as efficient and correct as possible. The necessary technological applications are being developed together with the company “R3 GIS” in Meran. The project is being realized and coordinated by Dr. Hanns Kirchmeir and DI Tobias Köstl MSc.
