A journey with the “Hirschbirne”

The tourism association of the Naturpark Pöllauer Tal is the project initiator of the establishment of the experience-oriented thematic infopoints “Hirschbirn hirsch’n”. The aim of the project is the knowledge transfer through current approaches in nature education. Major topics are orchard meadows, the nature park and in particular the “Hirschbirne”, an almost forgotten fruit variety, which is now the leading regional product.

In a participative process together with the local stakeholders, E.C.O. has been working out the concept and development of the project.

In the presence of the representatives of the tourism association, the hosts of the infopoints, the mayors and of E.C.O., the cut of the spade took place in the Schlosspark Pöllau. The official opening of “Hirschbirn hirsch’n” is planned for the 28th of June.
